R Truth heel turn: why is it good for WWE?

R Truth Smoking on TV R Truth heel turn: why is it good for WWE?After losing his spot in Extreme Rules to John Morrison, the entire WWE universe saw the heel turn of R Truth. He hit Morrison, one of the biggest fan favorites several times, smoke a cigarette on television (He was condemned later for doing so) and definitely it was good enough for him to catch attention of WWE universe. After all, his rapping character was not taking him anywhere and it’s tough to get to the top of RAW staying a babyface, because “The Champ” (Read, John Cena) is already here.

The heel turned R Truth is currently in a rivalry with John Cena. The rivalry is not one of the best in these years, but, yes, definitely refreshing for the fans. After all, it’s far better than seeing John Cena and Randy Orton fighting the 100th time with each other. In addition, whether R Truth wins the title or not, for the first time, he will get a chance to prove himself in the main event. If he is good enough, he will stick to the main event.

History says, it’s easier to get to the top while you are a heel (We have plenty of examples like Brock Lesner, Kurt Angle, Triple H etc.). It will be too early to say about the fate of R Truth, but, if he indeed turns into a main event star, it will do well to WWE. After all, most of their main superstars are out of injury (i.e. The Undertaker), have retired (i.e. Shawn Michaels) or visit occasionally (i.e. Triple H). At 39 years of age, R Truth is not exactly part of the youth brigade, but, if used wisely, he can be a star for sure. Let’s see what’s in store for future.
