Shawn Michaels is back to WWE! Well, be shocked but this is true. He has signed a multiple year contract with World Wrestling Federation and both Shawn and WWE has confirmed the good news. HBK, however, insists that he returned to the business as a ‘behind the curtain’ creative professional and won’t wrestle ever again.
HBK made it very clear in a recent interview that there will be a lot of rumors and expectations as he is back to the business he belongs, but he has decided to stay loyal to his words to The Undertaker and the millions of WWE fans. This is to mention here that Shawn Michaels challenged The Phenom at WWE WrestleMania XXVI in a ‘Streak vs. Career’ match. The Undertaker won the match which kept his unbeaten WrestleMania streak (now 18-0) and forced HBK to retire from wrestling. This was the kayfabe; but in reality HBK wanted to give up wrestling due to his health issues. He had a career-threatening back injury that forced him to stay away from wrestling for 4 years. At the age of 44, he decided not to take further chances as professional wrestling is an injury-prone profession.
HBK will expectedly play an ambassadorial role where he will promote the organization and its events like WrestleMania. Shawn, however, hasn’t ruled out the chances of a surprising return to Raw or SmackDown as an on-air character but chances of wrestling again is next to none. HBK said WWE has always been very supportive of him and there is no way he will show up for any other promotion ever. Ina a recent video diary, HBK was found saying, “I am happy to announce that Shawn Michaels and the WWE have reached a long-term agreement to continue and assure our relationship with each other well into the future.” Michaels, being in his typical funny self, also made it clear that he is certainly not the mysterious Raw GM.
