WWE Money In The Bank match may be brought back to WrestleMania this year, according to some insider reports. The WWE officials are considering a place for this match in the official WrestleMania 28 card. Incidentally, way back in 2005, for the first time, WWE Money in the Bank match was held in the grandest stage of them all and it became immensely popular among the fans. WWE continued to organize the match till 2010 continuously; however, they came up with a pay-per-view dedicated to the match in 2010. Last year, WWE decided to scrap the idea of a MITB (Abbreviation of Money In The Bank if you don’t understand) match in the WrestleMania altogether and went ahead only with the pay-per-view. The pay-per-view was great, partially because of the two WWE Money In The Bank matches, but mainly because of the amazing contest between CM Punk and John Cena.

Now, how does it bring extra benefits to WWE or what are the associated disadvantages if MITB is brought back to WrestleMania card? To be very honest, WWE Money In The Bank match became almost an integral part of the WrestleMania card and I never liked the fact that it was removed. However, if WWE indeed is able to pull this match back in WrestleMania, I think it will benefit the company in the longer run. Why do I think so? Below are my reasons:

There should be single WWE Money In The Bank Match

Well, I am not against two different WWE Money In The Bank matches for two different brands, but, if there is a single match, chances are huge that the wrestler, who wins, will get immense heat almost instantly (Be it positive or negative). It’s always better than sharing the winner’s prize than winning single, isn’t it?

If the WWE Money In The Bank match becomes a part of WrestleMania, there will be no such scope of two different MITB matches.

Make no mistake here! I have already mentioned it that Money In The Bank in 2011 was an awesome event. However, that’s where the problem lies. An awesome event does not necessarily translate into huge pay-per-views (Take an example from MITB 2011). Also, even if it does, it will be very hard for WWE to bring such excitement to this year’s event as well. The rivalries and matches were so wisely put last year; I doubt it’s almost impossible to replicate the success this New Year.

More opportunity for Mid-Carders in WrestleMania

If you are a true fan of wrestling, you must have not enjoyed the Snooki match in WrestleMania last year. I mean the Jersey Shore star is good at entertaining audiences, but, she is horrible when it comes to wrestling. Personally, though it had credible superstars, I didn’t like the Team BigShow vs. The Corre match either.

With a Money In The Bank match in the WrestleMania card, the mid-carders will have much better opportunity to showcase their talent. There will be only one winner, no doubt about that, but, some other superstars may do some high flying moves, show some amazing in-ring skills, ultimately helping their own careers. Also, a bunch of bad wrestlers participating in a string of matches is far worse than a single WWE Money In The Bank match with all the mid-carders (Or, some upper carders without a strong enough rivalry). The latter will bring magic to any event, so why not make WrestleMania magical!

It seems that wise decision has ultimately been taken by WWE as far as the Money In The Bank match is concerned. Do you want to see the WWE Money In The Bank match in WrestleMania, a separate pay-per-view or at both?

Were you surprised to see Mark Henry losing his World Heavyweight Championship match at TLC 2011 so early? Well, if you think that was an impromptu finish, you are right. WWE, for several months, has booked Mark Henry as a heel monster, the wrestler built huge amount of heat around him and WWE had no reason to suddenly take the limelight away from him. The original plan, according to insider sources was to keep Mark Henry as the champion (Many of the fans predicted the same outcome as well); however, Mark Henry’s injury caused WWE to change their initial plan.

Mark Henry suffered a pull in the groin area during his match on RAW against John Cena. Initially, it was thought that the injury is not something serious, but, later, certain tests were conducted and those suggested that it was way more severe than initially thought. WWE creative writers still wanted to keep Mark Henry the champion for some time even if that meant less screen time for him in SmackDown. But Vince McMahon intervened and suggested that he wants a new Champion who can compete at a regular basis and is at the best level physically. Thus, the initial plan was changed and Big Show was made the new champion (Only to be defeated by Daniel Bryan almost immediately as the latter cashed in his Money In The Bank opportunity).

This is definitely an unfortunate incident for Mark Henry who was already a monster heel in SmackDown and gathered huge momentum in the show. However, Wrestler Speaks wishes Mark Henry a speedy recovery and hope he makes a return pretty soon. Once he returns, we hope to see him as the monstrous heel once again as well. After all it is this character which made him the World Champion after 15 years of wait.

WWE seems to have learned from the mistake and is making necessary amendments to Royal Rumble 2012. In 2011, one of the biggest pay-per-view events of the company, Royal Rumble was made bigger and 40 instead of 30 wrestlers participated in the show. However, the audiences and the critics never liked this bigger Royal Rumble, as many stated that the Royal Rumble was better in terms of quantity, not quality.

More and more mid-carders were made part of the 40 men Royal Rumble. Fans expected some big names to come back, some exciting wrestling moves, however that never happened. Not only that, but names such as Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler who already had World Title matches earlier that night, participated in the Royal Rumble to have another chance at the gold.

Now, Royal Rumble 2012 to be held in St. Louis’ Scottrade Center already is being advertised for a World Heavyweight Championship match, one WWE Championship Match and also a 30 Men Royal Rumble Match. To be honest, at this very moment, WWE does not have good enough mid-carders to create hype around a 40 men Royal Rumble match and it is nothing but a wise decision to shift back to 30 men match-up. As a wrestling fan, I will definitely like to see make some legends making a one-off appearance in the classic Royal Rumble 2012 match as well. Also, a request to the WWE creative team, please don’t make the winner to be obvious like last time. Alberto Del Rio stated many times that he will be winning the Royal Rumble match and he eventually did it. There was hardly any surprise. It was even worse to see Santino Marella within the final two competitors. That was shocking for sure, but, as a true wrestling fan, I (I believe many of those who read this article as well) will certainly not prefer such surprises in Royal Rumble 2012.

As each day passes, the John Cena and Rock saga reaches new heights. Recently, John Cena was interviewed by Yahoo! Sports and Cena told the interviewer Dan Gelston that he would do anything to fight The Rock, “I will do anything for that match. If I have to talk more trash about The Rock, I’m your guy.” The Rock, on the other hand, was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly earlier this week where he spoke about returning WWE as WrestleMania 27 host. During that interview, when “The Great One” was asked about his plans with WWE after WrestleMania 27, he said it’s all up in the air; but he would remain attached with the organization. He wants to do a brainstorming session with Vince McMahon and do something on a global scale, something that has never been done yet. Interestingly, he also said that along with hosting, he would love to whop somebody’s ass. Well Cena, are you listening?

WWE Hall of Famer “Hot Rod” Rowdy Roddy Piper came up with a unique idea for WrestleMania 27 in a recent interview. Piper said he has proposed WWE a plan of putting John Cena and The Rock in “Piper’s Pit” at WrestleMania. Though The Rock won’t wrestle anymore, the fans would love to see him meeting John Cena face to face. Piper believes WWE should use people like Rock and himself to entertain the fans on the biggest stage of wrestling instead of bringing starlets like Snooki.

Rey Mysterio has recently been in news for all wrong news. There were speculations about his drift with WWE and that he isn’t interested to stay in WWE anymore. But Mysterio recently tweeted against all these speculations. He confirmed his cordial relationship with WWE family and said he has no plan of quitting WWE or wrestling any soon. He tweeted, “”Those that like me, u will have Rey 4 a good time&those that don’t, well life isn’t always sweet, 619 out!”

A wrestling website recently reported that last Monday, JR might have really injured himself.  He appeared on Raw last week to confront Michael Cole and stand by his friend Jerry “The King” Lawler. Jack Swagger, the personal trainer of Michael Cole for WrestleMania 27, came in and put an ankle lock on JR. Perhaps swagger got a bit too excited following this kayfabe and has perhaps injured JR a little during this act. JR, however, stuck to the storyline as he posted the following on Wednesday in his blog: “”Ankle & knee have stretched ligaments in ankle & knee. Still sore & swollen but will be ok. X-rays aft swelling goes down. Thnx Swagger/cole.”

Vickie Guerrero has recently lost some weight. Recently, she tweeted about her weight loss.  Kayfabe-wise, she is now “fired” from SmackDown and is a part of Raw roaster. Vickie is scheduled for a 6 People Mixed Tag Team match against Snooki, John Morrison and Trish Stratus. Recently Vickie tweeted, “Thanks for the love…I have lost 50 lbs and feel wonderful and strong. I love my trainer! I love the new ME.” She also state that she is not interested to join TNA – “I would never go to TNA…no disrespect to anybody…WWE is my family…period.”

Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan – two of the biggest names of professional wrestling recently involved in a verbal battle. The war of words started when WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart was asked about his opinion on another WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. Hart tweeted: “Hogan’s nothing but a two-faced, backstabbing, steroid freak who deserved everything he got.” Hogan didn’t take long to respond to Bret as he tweeted the very next saying,” Listen to where Bret’s speaking from, it’s funny he’s done everything he’s saying I did.” Next came Bret’s lethal slap when he tweeted, “HulkHogan4Real That’s not what John Graziano thinks, dickhead.” John Graziano is the young man who was riding Nick Hogan’s car that meet an accident on August 2007. Graziano is now left permanently brain damaged and his family, after receiving an undisclosed amount of money from Hulk, settled the lawsuit. Now it will be interesting to see what Hogan comes up with.

According to some sources, Jersey Shore star Snooki will be at Raw next week. In recent weeks, WWE superstar John Cena was found trading messages with Snooki on Twitter. There she was found expressing her love for WWE and how eager he is to meet Cena. Snooki, real name Nicole Polizzi, seems to be in talks with the organization and an appearance deal may have already been struck between them.

Along with “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, “Bullet” Bob Armstrong and HBK Shawn Michaels, WWE has now officially confirmed the name of Tammy “Sunny” Sytch in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2011. Tammy enjoyed most of her success in WWE as “Sunny” from 1995 to 1998. She participated in WrestleMania XXV in 2009 in the 25 Diva Battle Royal for the crown of “Miss WrestleMania”.

In recent times, WWE has taken a fresh, new approach to the weekly shows and pay per views. You can now find new house shows like “WWE Superstars” and “WWE NXT“. Similarly, “Over the Limit” is the promotion’s brand new PPV and it drew some attention as it was the first PPV after this years’ Draft. Now let’s see if it worked or not:

The show began with the Intercontinental Title Match between Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre. Kofi took around six minutes to beat McIntyre and win the title. Drew requested Smackdown GM Teddy Long to reverse the decision. Fortunately for the viewers, that didn’t happen as McIntyre was paid back with his own coin by Matt Hardy, the guy whom Drew savagely beat some weeks ago.

The next match was between R-Truth and Ted DiBiase, accompanied by Virgil yet gain. The match could live up t the expectation and the way Truth managed a pinfall victory; it seemed DiBiase have picked up some sort of injury.

The third match of the night had some good build ups earlier. It was between Rey Mysterio and CM Punk. The stipulation of the match was that if Rey loose, he will join Punk’s Straightedge Society; but if he wins, Punk will have his head shaved. At one point, the match looked pretty boring but the superstars picked it up nicely from there and created a terrific closing sequence. Rey won the match and Brutus Beefcake appeared to shave Punk’s head nearly bald.

The next match was between The Hart Dynasty and the team of The Miz and Chris Jericho. The Canadians won the match after they hit a Hart Attack on Miz and retained their title. This was followed by the match between Randy Orton and Edge. But it seemed Randy picked up an injury during the match and the wrestlers improvised a double count out finish, something that was not a part of the booking.

The match between Big Show and Jack Swagger failed to impress as WWE decided go to with their age old and irritating cop-out finish. Swagger intentionally disqualified himself and had some serious beating from Show. But the fans didn’t the ending at all.

The final match of the night between Dave Batista and WWE Champion John Cena was a good one. Cena forced Dave to say “I Quit” and kept the title. This might well be the last match of Batista as he has plans to retire from professional wrestling soon. When Cena was celebrating his victory, Sheamus showed up and kicked the champ to set the feud.

Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker again in Wrestlemania 26? These two WWE veterans gifted the fans a remarkable match last year in Wrestlemania 25. Now only four days away from the grandest wrestling extravaganza, it seems that they are all set to meet each other yet again. The match is being confirmed for a while now. But this year, the challenge is a bit tougher. During the build-up of this match, the storyline showcased a dejected and frustrated Shawn Michaels who is utterly upset with his last year’s performance in Wrestlemania and is keen to meet the Undertaker again. As Taker was the World Heavyweight Champion then, Shawn had to become the No.1 contender to face the Dead Man. But he lost a few open opportunities and was in no position to fight the match. In order to provoke Taker, Shawn appeared inside the Elimination Chamber in WWE’s last Pay per View and super-kicked the Phenom that cost him the title. Taker, no more the Champ now, decides to face Shawn under one condition; if Shawn loses, he must retire. Shawn accepted the challenge and this match now will put Shawn’s career on the line against Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania.

Retirement angles are mostly trivial in wrestling business. Fingers will point towards Ric Flair who is wrestling for TNA nearly two years after “retiring forever” at Wrestlemania 24. Ironically, he lost his ‘last’ match to Shawn Michaels. But Shawn might actually say goodbye to wrestling. He suffered a debilitating back injury that snatched four long years of his career and the 44 year old might not be interested to endanger his life anymore. There are also chances of the Undertaker giving up his streak. Although he is one of the most popular wrestlers in the history of the game, he will turn 45 during Wrestlemania 26 and physically is not in the best of shapes. Storyline wise, this might be a clear indication that age has started taking its toll on him and he might decide not to be around next year. The sensations of the “Attitude Era” are now the senior performers and are considering retirement as an option in real life. This makes the match even more interesting as the result may indicate who is going to say goodbye in near future.

In recent years, WWE has often been criticized for not being able to create sound and interesting storylines or fascinating rivalries throughout the year; as things used to happen during the “WWE vs. WCW: The Monday Night Wars” era. But things were stirred rather seriously each year during the Wrestlemania season. So it seems again; in fact, things can be a lot more than just interesting this time as WWE is now planning to use Bret “The Hitman” Hart in a “Salvation against Vince” storyline.

No matter whether it’s Hulk Hogan’s threat from the TNA ring or just the Wrestlemania charm, WWE is again inclined towards creative storylines. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels; one time enemies and the two old war-horses of the company have successfully created some serious buzz among the fans since Hart’s return to WWE.

We saw an escalation of tension between the Hitman and Vince McMahon again on last week’s Raw which means a match is certain. Chances of a one-on-one match are thin; it may involve John Cena teaming with Hart and Batista backing up his boss. It may also be Cena vs. Batista with Hart and Vince is respective corners; something similar to the involvement of Donald Trump 3 years ago.

But the most absorbing element of Raw now-a-days is the spiral into despair of Michaels. Last week Shawn declared “my career is over” and superkicked Smackdown GM Teddy Long out of frustration after missing the opportunity to wrestle The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. A rematch between Michaels and The Undertaker may still take place, but how they get to it and whether it leads to the break-up of DX should be of special interest. The beauty of this current build-up is that although we can presume a few matches as described, WWE still has over six weeks to go and the know a plenty of ways to develop the stories.
