It’s good news for the Christian’s peeps. Captain Charisma is returning soon into action. The BOK Center in Tulsa has started showing advertisements teasing the return of Christian on SmackDown for the February 7th event. Incidentally, the former World Heavyweight Champion was injured in a match against Sheamus on 9th November this year while the WWE roster was touring Europe.

Incidentally, Christian last time made an appearance on RAW for The Slammy Awards event and he was seen wearing a neck brace and using a crutch. Before Christian got injured, he was part of a rivalry with Sheamus and suffered two consecutive defeats on the hands of the Celtic Warrior. He was supposed to be a part of Team Barrett on Survivor Series; however, he had to withdraw himself due to the injury.

Incidentally, after Christian got injured, Sheamus is pretty much listless. He has faced many opponents in the last few months and has squashed some wrestlers inside the ring as well; however, it’s been 2 months now since he had a solid feud with someone notable. WWE seemed to try for a Sheamus vs. Swagger feud, but it didn’t really solidify to be honest.

Christian is surely a regular upper-card wrestler who can sneak into any rivalry and can attract attention from audiences. Sheamus and Christian were having a good rivalry and it is now to be watched whether the two continue with their feud or not when the latter finally makes his return, around 1 and ½ half month later.

One of the scheduled WrestleMania matches may be changed by the WWE creative team. In SmackDown, the rivalry between Edge, Christian and Alberto Del Rio is heating up each week and as a result, Christian may be included in the World Heavyweight title shot between Edge and Alberto del Rio at WrestleMania 27. Kayfabe-wise, Christian was injured by Del Rio and as he is back, he is dying to take his revenge. WWE creative team doesn’t want to end this angle; but it may well not be interesting after imposing a pause on the storyline and restart it after WrestleMania. So, there is a discussion among the creative heads to make the title match a “Triple Threat” match so that the storyline between Del Rio and Christian can be resumed after WrestleMania.

After nearly a month, Ted DiBiase made a television appearance on SmackDown last week. He was scheduled in a match against Rey Mysterio. DiBiase lost the match against Rey rather quickly. There was also another “Raw invasion” last week on SmackDown when Sheamus appeared on SmackDown and defeated Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. Interestingly, SmackDown nameplate was displayed during DiBiase’s entrance whereas Sheamus’ entrance was displayed with the Raw nameplate.

WrestleMania 27 will not be the end of The Rock’s run in WWE. He is scheduled on the Raw following the WrestleMania 27. Now, he will also appear on “WWE Tough Enough” as a guest. “Tough Enough” will be aired from April 4, 2011, Monday and “The Great One” will be a guest in an important episode of the show. Another WWE Legend, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin will be the host of the show. The show will feature a diverse group of men and women living and training under one roof in a wonderful location at Simi Valley, California. The winner will get a contract with WWE.

Is The Undertaker Dead? The reign of the King of darkness is over? Well, WWE fans were stunned after WWE Smackdown’s June 4th, 2010 telecast as the show hinted something similar to such disturbing news. As the show kicked off, Smackdown GM Theodore Long announced that “The Phenom” was beaten severely by several unknown entities last weekend and was left in a vegetable state. There is no perfect update about his conditions but it seems that he is dead. Kane, the kayfabe brother of the Undertaker was featured throughout the show and he was in pursuit of the man or men behind taker’s death. Kane vowed in front of the WWE fans that he will find out and make the culprit pay for his deeds.

Hey Guys! Don’t worry. Mark Calaway is absolutely fine in real life. Neither WWE has any plans to drop the character of The Undertaker all of a sudden. Actually during a match with Rey Mysterio for Tuesday’s TV taping, Mark broke his orbital bone and nose. He will be out of action for nearly 6 to 8 months. WWE, therefore, have decided to use this injury in the storyline to draw some serious attention to Smackdown. It seems that he plan worked well as “Undertaker Dead” keyword has been one of the three most searched keywords on the web last week.

Many fans must have noticed that The Undertaker aka Mark Calaway has been slowing down a lot in recent years. No doubt, this man is an incredible legend and has been one of the key wrestlers behind WWE’s success over the years. But let’s face it, he’s 45 and his body can’t take the fierce beating as it could some 5 to 6 years ago. Taker’s injury has made it impossible for him to participate in the upcoming PPV “Fatal 4 Way”. Now it’s up to WWE creative writers, they have an unexpected chance to use their grey matter and work on “Undertaker Dead” storyline. Let’s wait and watch what they can come up with.

Don’t be so. To keep the heat in the Orton-Christian rivalry, that was probably the only path that WWE creative team could have taken. After all, they could not risk a heel turn of their main face of SmackDown, Randy Orton. But to spice up this already budding rivalry, the only way out was to make Christian a heel.

WWE Universe must not have forgotten the amount of rage that was noticed among fans after Christian lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Randy Orton, only after a few days of winning it. Now, turning Christian a heel may not go down well with the fans either. However, according to insiders, this whole title loss was written to turn Christian a heel. SmackDown has a lot of heel superstars but it is a fact that none of them will be more effective when compared to Captain Charisma.

Only time can tell that whether Christian’s heel turn helps SmackDown regain its ratings or not. WWE must be hoping that this new turn works and fans then will get to see some more Christian-Orton inside the ring. After all, these two set the house on fire once they start wrestling each other.

As time passes by, the ratings for WWE show SmackDown is only seeing a decrease. The June 3rd episode of the show featured a WWE Championship match between Randy Orton and Sheamus, however, that was not enough to generate a good rating. The match was pre-advertised, still, the show only managed a cable rating of 1.77. It is less than the cable rating for last 2 weeks as well (May 20th – 1.89 and May 27th – 1.83).

SmackDown is not a live show. The original show is taped in Tuesday and the same is telecasted on Friday. Quite obviously, it is never possible for SmackDown to get ratings like a live show, such as RAW. In addition, apart from a few, most of the wrestlers in SmackDown are not the first grade superstars. SmackDown hence off late, has been known as the show where new talents are created, only for being shifted to RAW later.

Now the question arises what are the possible steps that SmackDown should take to recover the ratings? It’s been long since the show had 3 million or more visitors, so it’s high time to do something. Maybe, bringing some prominent superstars back such as The Undertaker (Does not seem to be a possibility considering his physical condition), creating some good match-ups or starting fresh and interesting rivalries will do the trick.

Smackdown dark match marks Christian's return to WWE. Bullet Bob Armstrong will be inducted at Wrestlemania 27. Jerry Lawler vs Michael Cole Wrestlemania 27 bout confirmed.

The viewers enjoyed a sensational Dark SmackDown match this week. After the SmackDown video tapings, World Heavyweight Champion Edge and Big Show teamed up with Christian to battle against The Corre and Alberto Del Rio. The match was the main event of the show. Christian grabbed the victory by hitting Del Rio with a Kill Switch. After the victory, Rio was speared by Edge followed by a chokeslam by Big Show. Christian tore his pectoral muscle in September 2010 and returned at Elimination Chamber this year.

WWE has decided to inaugurate “Bullet” Bob Armstrong for the class of 2011 hall of Fame. Bob admitted in a recent interview that the news came as a pleasant surprise. He worked long back for this organization; in fact, he had worked with Vince McMahon Senior for a short period of time. Bob said he wrestles almost every weekend and that’s what keeps him fit at the age of 71. One of Bob’s sons was also a popular WWE superstar, “Road Dogg” Jesse James aka BG James. Bob said all four of his sons; BG James, Brad Armstrong, Scott Armstrong and Steve Armstrong, will be present on that special night at Atlanta.

This week, WWE Universe found Michael Cole accepting Jerry “The King” Lawler’s challenge for a match at WrestleMania on Raw. Cole accepted the match on two conditions; first, he will have a special trainer who will be at his ringside during the match, secondly, he will have a special guest referee. Lawler accepted both challenges as the trainer turned out to be Jack Swagger. WWE creative team reportedly has already decided the name of special guest referee but couldn’t decide how to introduce him.
