Spike TV and TNA has partnered with Sirius XM Radio to spread their message through radio as well. TNA stars like Mr. Anderson, The Pope, Matt Morgan and Kazarian has already filmed their promos for the campaign. The campaign supported TNA World Champion Jeff Hardy’s act of standing by a teenager named Tyler who had been a victim of bullying. Hardy invited him to Orlando for a TNA show and spent some quality time with the kid.

ECW legend Sabu was recently informed by the TNA officials that after ‘Turning Point’ on 11.07.10, the creative team is in no position to use him in the current storyline. Sabu will be a member of team EV 2.0 against Fortune. The match has a stipulation where the winning team can pick an opponent of their choice who will be immediately fired. TNA officials informed that the match stipulation has nothing to do with Sabu’s release.

Individual respect and courtesy overshadowed professional rivalry! TNA President Dana White and WWE’s Linda McMahon are certainly not best of friends. But Dixie decided to support Linda on her Senate run. She made a Tweet recently that said: “Good luck today to Linda McMahon. I think she’d be a great senator. Get out and vote!!!” Hats off Dixie, you’re a star!

The news may sound strange but it’s true. It has now been confirmed that Mixed Martial Arts is going to be Heyman’s next destination.

But Paul was having other options as well. WWE never had any doubt about his creative edge; it was only his self-esteem and pride that kept him away from arguably the biggest professional wrestling promotion today. Recently he was also offered a “Giant deal” from TNA and the wrestling fans thought its only time that he accepts that offer. But Paul rejected the offer as TNA officials couldn’t agree with his vision.

Paul had a five year plan; He wanted to spend first 18 months to build the TNA roaster freshly and for the next 18 months, he wanted to exploit that new roaster. The next two years, he believed, he would have enjoyed the success that new TNA setup would have brought. But TNA was not impressed with his vision and he was not happy to be just another valuable member of TNA family. Paul believes the market of wrestling is gradually shrinking; so he wanted to present wrestling in a completely new package that could compete in today’s market. After the negotiation with TNA broke down, Paul wants to move to MMA and his close friend Brock Lesnar in UFC maybe a big influence. Heyman also runs a production company along with Mitchell Stuart and has also started the second season of “The Heyman Hustle”.

The wrestling fans will witness the downfall of another mammoth promotion in the world of professional wrestling at the end of this month. ECW will cease to exist soon. Though the “Paul Heyman version” of Extreme Championship Wrestling was over long long ago with superstars like The Sandman, Sabu, Tomy Dreamer, Balls Mahoney, Rob Van Dam, Tazz all gradually sidelined or retired, the brand was still available under Vincent Kennedy McMahon’s Sports Entertainment business. But WWE has now decided that Vince’s version of ECW will now finally be axed at the end of the month.

Under the guidance of talisman promoter Paul Heyman, ECW was once one of the most exciting wrestling promotions across the globe, particularly in the mid 1990s. But the promotion filed for bankruptcy in April 2001 and Vince McMahon bought the company and signed the biggest starts of the show to WWE. ECW was introduced as WWE’s third brand (after Raw and Smackdown) five years later under the stewardship of Paul Heyman and RVD. This new version of ECW was much criticized by the fans as the hardcore, innovative style of wrestling was not found anymore; something that made the original ECW such a huge hit. Heyman and RVD could do nothing but watch WWE tearing apart their vision with their hands tied behind their back. The duo later left WWE. Call it lack of creativity or a well thought-out business plan, ECW gradually became a less-important show where the future stars of WWE were given some serious air-time. Vince, during his brief announcement, simply thanked the producers, agents, production staffs and wrestlers who built the new ECW brand. This left Tazz, RVD and many former WWE and ECE stars furious. The ECW slot in SyFy network will now be given to a new program called NXT; a show that will star the future generation of wrestling. The final show of ECW will be screened on February 23rd, 2010. After all, all good things come to an end!

It seems luck is not with Goldust. This veteran WWE superstar has recently injured his shoulder that may keep him away from wrestling for a while. Being the son of WWE Hall of Famer “The American dream” Dusty Rhodes, the superstar debut as a fan favorite in late 1990s. He left WWE in 1991 and joined WCW as “the Natural” Dustin Rhodes. Goldust returned to WWE again in 1995 and this process of leaving and returning to WWE and WCW continued for a few more years. The superstar, however, was doing a great job during this tenure with WWE. But he injured himself recently which will keep him out of the ring for 5-6 months. Goldust recently posted this update on his Twitter account and appears to be very upset about this injury. His autobiography, “Cross Rhodes” is scheduled to be released next week by WWE.

Shawn Spears, a former ECW star has decided to try his luck in the upcoming WWE Tough Enough. He used to wrestle in ECW as Gavin Spears. Spears was also in contract with WWE from 2006 to 2009. You can view his bio page here.

Vince McMahon still expects a Brock Lesnar appearance in WrestleMania 27. The discussion couldn’t move ahead since The Undertaker made a surprise visit to UFC and had a few tempting words with “The Pain”. Vince told his creative team to come up with a new story angle to bring Brock for a special appearance and involve one major WWE star in the storyline.

But the promotion is learning fast and taking smart professional moves to grow bigger and better. Recently, Dixie carter’s promotion had hired a consulting farm to get some professional support with their TV ratings and fans’ feedback. The results were overwhelming and surely will make Paul Heyman proud! The report stated that the memory of ECW, Paul’s brainchild, is still very strong in the males belonging to the age-group of 18-34. But for unknown reasons; WWE, who now owns ECW, have decided to shut down the promotion and TNA wants to cash in here. They now have plans to create an ECW like stable in TNA. In fact, Eric Bischoff has started working on the idea and with the roaster full of former ECW superstars; his job will not be difficult at all. As soon as the storyline gets ready, fans can see guys like Tommy Dreamer, RVD, Dr.Stevie, Team 3D, Raven and Taz teaming up together, once again! Mick Foley will also join the group once he returns to the storyline.

But TNA authorities believe, the stable angle will not look realistic without the Paul Heyman, the most prominent ECW character. As long as his joining TNA is concerned, there have been no confirmed reports. Some of his close buddies believe he may join TNA but others don’t see it happening any sooner. In the recent Impact tapings, his name has been discussed a lot in backstage. Heyman is now reportedly busy in writing two books, one of them is his autobiography.

The month of August is turning out to be a nightmare for the wrestling fans as it has already seen the sad demise of Lance Cade and General Akbar. Along with WWE, Luna has worked for ECW and WCW as well. Since her early days in wrestling, Luna had always struggled with depression and her personal demons. WWE sent her to rehab more than once at the organizations own expenses but Luna failed to overcome her evil.

Luna was last seen in WWE in early 2000. The organization recently confirmed in their official website that Luna (Gertrude Vachon) is no more and extended their deepest condolences to her family. She was 48 and is survived by her two sons and a granddaughter. ECW legend Tommy Dreamer and WWE superstar Goldust remembered Luna as a strong and fun loving lady and reached out to her family in this time of crisis.

The list includes some big names like Maria and Gregory “Hurricane” Helms. Along with these two, the rest who were given pink slips are Paul Burchill, Charlie Haas and referee Scott Armstrong.

Maria who recently turned 28 was arguably one of the most popular female faces of the company. She was the cover girl of Playboy and had also won “Diva of the Year” Slammy Award in 2009 – an award where the winners are voted by the fans. The star has been axed after being with the company for six long years and she tweeted recently that the news was quite shocking to her.

Gregory Helms’ exit was less shocking. The wrestler was recently arrested and charged with being “intoxicated in a public place” in Kentucky together with Chris Jericho. He was not a major card wrestler anyway and was given a less important role in currently defunct ECW. He is expected to join TNA soon and has already made a verbal agreement with the organization. TNA has plans to start a new stable with Jeff hardy, Shannon Moore, Helms and Jesse Neal.

WWE is expected to cut their roaster even shorter in the coming weeks after they axed their ECW brand.
