But things were stirred rather seriously each year during the Wrestlemania season. So it seems again; in fact, things can be a lot more than just interesting this time as WWE is now planning to use Bret “The Hitman” Hart in a “Salvation against Vince” storyline.

No matter whether it’s Hulk Hogan’s threat from the TNA ring or just the Wrestlemania charm, WWE is again inclined towards creative storylines. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels; one time enemies and the two old war-horses of the company have successfully created some serious buzz among the fans since Hart’s return to WWE.

We saw an escalation of tension between the Hitman and Vince McMahon again on last week’s Raw which means a match is certain. Chances of a one-on-one match are thin; it may involve John Cena teaming with Hart and Batista backing up his boss. It may also be Cena vs. Batista with Hart and Vince is respective corners; something similar to the involvement of Donald Trump 3 years ago.

But the most absorbing element of Raw now-a-days is the spiral into despair of Michaels. Last week Shawn declared “my career is over” and superkicked Smackdown GM Teddy Long out of frustration after missing the opportunity to wrestle The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. A rematch between Michaels and The Undertaker may still take place, but how they get to it and whether it leads to the break-up of DX should be of special interest. The beauty of this current build-up is that although we can presume a few matches as described, WWE still has over six weeks to go and the know a plenty of ways to develop the stories.

This will make its place in TNA’s history for several reasons. First of all, it ended former WWE and ECE superstar Rhino’s run in Dixie Carter’s promotion. He participated in a Lethal Lockdown match between EV 2.0 and Fortune. EV 2.0 team included Rhino along with Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Sabu and Stevie Richards. The PPV has also seen the last of Team 3D as Devon and Brother Ray announced their retirement after the show. But these two superstars are still in contract with TNA and is expected to perform as individually. Brother Ray will continue as a heel while Devon will work as a babyface.

In another Three on Two Handicap match, the team of Sting, Kevin Nash and D’Angelo defeated Jeff Jarrett and Samoa Joe. It was the last match for Kevin Nash also as he has decided to stay away from wrestling. In a Monster Ball match, RVD defeated Abyss. The biggest turnaround in the TNA storyline, however, took place during the TNA World Championship match. Jeff hardy defeated Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson in a Triple Threat match via pinfall. Hardy pinned Mr. Anderson with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischof turning heel and joining Hardy to secure the title for him. Jeff has taken a step further with his latest comment on Twitter. While reply to one of his fan’s comment, Hardy asked: “would u admit it’s stronger ThanThatWackAssNexusTeaseWithCena?” Strong words for a former WWE star, for sure!

With Jim Ross’s return, many were asking questions about the future of Michael Cole and WWE RAW announce team. Will the WWE officials decide in favor of a three man announcing team or will Michael Cole be used only for SmackDown? Well, WWE does not seem to be in a mood to let their cleverly created heel character Michael Cole just go. However, with veteran Jim Ross’s return, he cannot be left unused either (We all love his on-mic skills right)?

WWE has decided that all three – Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole will be used for calling RAW. The latest RAW scheduled will have all 3 of them and until any further plans being developed by WWE, they will continue to work together. It will definitely be interesting to see how these three work together especially after the history that Ross-Lawler share with Cole.

JR will not only call RAW LIVE, but WWE has plans of him calling the pay-per-view events as well. In addition, JR may also attend certain promotional events for the company in near future.

The night saw Rey Mysterio defeating The Miz to win the WWE Championship. However, that was not the single championship match that took place that night. Rey Mysterio had to defend his newly won title against John Cena and the match was won by the later. That was not however the end of surprise. CM Punk returned to RAW, only to have a confrontation with John Cena. It seems that a unification match is under its way soon.

In a match that was original taped for WWE Superstars, Santino Marella broke his nose. He was contesting in a tag team match with his partner Chris Masters and their opponents were Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga, the WWE tag team champions.

Cara violated the Wellness Program of WWE and was tested positive when a drug test was conducted. WWE management has prohibited the creative team of involving Cara in any storylines for now. Whether, Cara will be brought back to the company or not depends a lot on Triple H, the new CEO of the company. Sin Cara has a good relationship with Triple H and many believe, after a few months, Cara may get a second chance with WWE.

The show opened with Justin Roberts welcoming the crowd to the show and introducing Keri Hilson who sang “America the Beautiful”.

World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (Champ) vs. Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio didn’t get much of fan reaction as he entered the ring. Brodus Clay was at ringside to accompany the Mexican wrestler. Edge was interrupted by Brodus Clay but managed to grab a victory by hitting a spear on Del Rio. Winner: Edge

Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

This match saw Rey Mysterio in an extravagant outfit that resembled the costume of Captain America. But his performance in the match was not as heroic as the comic book hero. Mysterio was hit by “Cross Rhodes” and was pinned by Cody resulting in his defeat on the biggest stage of the year. Winner: Cody Rhodes

Big Show, Kane, Kofi Kingston & Santino Marella vs. The Corre

The unlikely team of Big Show, Kane, Kofi and Santino pulled out the shortest match of this year’s WrestleMania. Big Show hit Heath Slater with a KO punch and easily pinned him. Winners: Big Show, Kane, Kofi Kingston & Santino Marella

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

This was the “dark horse” bout of the night. There was no title involved and still the match drew some serious attention of the WWE fans present in the arena. Randy started as the crown favorite but Punk fought brilliantly with some good old wrestling maneuvers. He, however, lost the match after being hit by the RKO. Winner: Randy Orton

Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler

This was significant for two reasons. Firstly, it was the first WrestleMania match for Jerry “the King” Lawler. Secondly, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was the guest referee in this match. The result of this match was almost certain as Austin was in support of “the good guy” Lawler. Lawler won the match by putting the ankle lock on Cole who gave up the match by tapping out. But later the anonymous GM of Raw handed the match over to Cole. Winner: Michael Cole

The Undertaker vs. Triple H

This was the biggest attraction of the night. Both men got huge response from the fans as they entered the ring. Taker was at his very best and so was Triple H. The Phenom was repeatedly hit by Triple H only to kick out during the pinfall. Finally, he applied Hell’s Gate on Triple H who succumbed to Taker’s hold and was forced to tap out. Winner: The Undertaker

Trish Stratus, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi & John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler & LayCool

This was a kind of “WWE-Glamour world collaboration” match. Snooki was the key attraction of the matchup. She successfully charmed the audience with her wrestling moves and her team managed to grab the victory by pinning Michelle McCool. Winners: John Morrison, Trish Stratus & John Morrison

WWE Championship: The Miz (Champ) vs. John Cena

This match was on under scanner as many fans wanted to check the ability of The Miz on the biggest show of this business. Miz impressed the audience and put on a good show. Initially, Miz held the tile as both competitors were counted out. But later, The Rock entered and restarted the match. Cena was hit by a huge Rock Bottom and Miz cashed in the opportunity. He crawled over Cena managed a victory by pinfall. Winner: The Miz

The company had plans to induct the Ultimate Warrior into WWE Hall of Fame class of 2010. This year bears some extra sparks from the history as it celebrates the twentieth year of the historic “Title for Title” match in Wrestlemania VI. That phenomenal show insinuated the rise of another superstar after legendry Hulk Hogan; it demonstrated the rise of Ultimate Warrior. Moreover, this year’s Wrestlemania is going to take place in Phoenix, Warrior’s hometown. But Warrior, as unpredictable as he is, refused to accept WWE’s invitation and it seems the bad blood is still not over.

WWE gave Warrior a huge push by enabling him to defeat Hulk Hogan, the face of wrestling business in those days. But the WWE-Ultimate Warrior honeymoon didn’t last as long as the brand expected and during his checkered WWW career the wrestler was fired thrice by the President Vince McMahon. At 1991 Summerslam, Warrior was fired for the first time. Warrior claims that he was fired because McMahon was not interested to live up to the terms of an agreement where he would pay Warrior Hulk Hogan level money. On the other hand, McMahon spread the myth for years that Warrior held him up for money on the very night of the event and that was the reason to fire him. Nobody will be able to know the true reason behind the bad blood between WWE and Ultimate Warrior but we are safe to say money has always been a major factor.

Surprisingly, WWE is inducting Wendi Richter into the Hall of Fame this year. She is known to be the first person whom Vince screwed out from her title. Though Wendi is no match for the Ultimate Warrior; both popularity and persona wise; but she, ironically, is being honored in a year when Vince will be facing the man he screwed some 13 years ago.
