Rumors were rife that The Rock will be not making a comeback to the wrestling ring in WrestleMania, but, he actually has plans of battling it out in Survivor Series itself. Now, it is confirmed that the People’s Champion will indeed be a part of the Survivor Series pay-per-view and will team up with his long-declared WrestleMania opponent John Cena. The dream duo will be fighting the Awesome Truth tag team as announced on Monday Night RAW.

This match does not come as a surprise to the WWE audiences as it was widely advertised by WWE that Rock & Cena will indeed team up at Survivor Series. Awesome Truth just paved the way by attacking Cena at Vengeance and costing him the WWE title. Cena was bound to take his revenge and when he got the opportunity to choose any partner of his desire at Survivor Series, he opted for The Rock. It was expected, however, the crowd still cheered like anything. Why won’t they? The Great One will finally be back at doing what he does best (He acts well, but, I personally consider The Rock to be a better wrestler than an actor any day).

Now, I’ll do a short analysis of this upcoming match and how the rivalry is supposed to shape up before WrestleMania. First, I must state that I was not satisfied with the making to this Survivor Series match. Almost everyone knew this is going to happen, so I will criticize WWE for not bringing some extra spice to this. It was simply announced by Cena that he is choosing The Rock to be his partner. However, WWE can still make it interesting. The Rock is yet to make a comment on this match and let’s see if he can take this match (excitement wise) into a bigger level. Also, I really don’t understand what The Rock has to do with Awesome Truth! The duo never attacked Rock or even used his name throughout. Why should The Rock be put into this rivalry?

The only reason of what I can think of is shaping up the Cena-Rock match at WrestleMania. However, that won’t add any extra heat to the Awesome Truth duo. I must say that these two wrestlers (I won’t say young, R Truth is anything but young) have shown some good skills in the past few weeks and a straight loss against Cena-Rock duo at Survivor Series won’t really help them anyway. However, with The Rock returning to ring finally (Probably, the last time, he fought and lost to Goldberg), his fans (Millions and millions) must get excited and bring the house down at Survivor Series.

The Rock is all set to return to action in Survivor Series this year. Surprisingly, he is scheduled to team up with his WrestleMania opponent John Cena and participate in a traditional Survivor Series elimination match. The build up to the match is yet to be telecasted on WWE RAW, but, soon, it will be started nevertheless.

The Rock earlier posted on his Twitter account about a potential comeback in Survivor Series and it seems that was a well thought promotional strategy used by WWE to create some sort of hype. Incidentally, Survivor Series will be held in Madison Square Garden, New York this time, one of the most famous arenas in US.

The Survivor Series match will be used as build up for the WrestleMania encounter between the People’s Champion and John Cena. Rock is also expected to participate in several other pay-per-views between Survivor Series and WrestleMania; however this news is yet to be confirmed.

As each day passes, the John Cena and Rock saga reaches new heights. Recently, John Cena was interviewed by Yahoo! Sports and Cena told the interviewer Dan Gelston that he would do anything to fight The Rock, “I will do anything for that match. If I have to talk more trash about The Rock, I’m your guy.” The Rock, on the other hand, was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly earlier this week where he spoke about returning WWE as WrestleMania 27 host. During that interview, when “The Great One” was asked about his plans with WWE after WrestleMania 27, he said it’s all up in the air; but he would remain attached with the organization. He wants to do a brainstorming session with Vince McMahon and do something on a global scale, something that has never been done yet. Interestingly, he also said that along with hosting, he would love to whop somebody’s ass. Well Cena, are you listening?

WWE Hall of Famer “Hot Rod” Rowdy Roddy Piper came up with a unique idea for WrestleMania 27 in a recent interview. Piper said he has proposed WWE a plan of putting John Cena and The Rock in “Piper’s Pit” at WrestleMania. Though The Rock won’t wrestle anymore, the fans would love to see him meeting John Cena face to face. Piper believes WWE should use people like Rock and himself to entertain the fans on the biggest stage of wrestling instead of bringing starlets like Snooki.

Since the return of The Rock, WWE Universe has seen one of the hottest feuds in the history of WWE and most interestingly, the two had never been in a wrestling ring ever together. You guessed it right; it’s the Cena-Rock feud prior to WrestleMania 27 this year. It all started when Rock, after his return as WrestleMania 27 host, made fun of John Cena. The tension increased as the verbal battle between the two superstars continued. The speculations of a match between John Cena and The Rock may now also be in the air, particularly after Rock’s recent statement regarding a comeback. He claimed, “I’ve never said never, I’m open to it.”

One of the scheduled WrestleMania matches may be changed by the WWE creative team.  In SmackDown, the rivalry between Edge, Christian and Alberto Del Rio is heating up each week and as a result, Christian may be included in the World Heavyweight title shot between Edge and Alberto del Rio at WrestleMania 27. Kayfabe-wise, Christian was injured by Del Rio and as he is back, he is dying to take his revenge. WWE creative team doesn’t want to end this angle; but it may well not be interesting after imposing a pause on the storyline and restart it after WrestleMania.  So, there is a discussion among the creative heads to make the title match a “Triple Threat” match so that the storyline between Del Rio and Christian can be resumed after WrestleMania.

After nearly a month, Ted DiBiase made a television appearance on SmackDown last week. He was scheduled in a match against Rey Mysterio. DiBiase lost the match against Rey rather quickly. There was also another “Raw invasion” last week on SmackDown when Sheamus appeared on SmackDown and defeated Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. Interestingly, SmackDown nameplate was displayed during DiBiase’s entrance whereas Sheamus’ entrance was displayed with the Raw nameplate.

WrestleMania 27 will not be the end of The Rock’s run in WWE. He is scheduled on the Raw following the WrestleMania 27. Now, he will also appear on “WWE Tough Enough” as a guest. “Tough Enough” will be aired from April 4, 2011, Monday and “The Great One” will be a guest in an important episode of the show.  Another WWE Legend, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin will be the host of the show. The show will feature a diverse group of men and women living and training under one roof in a wonderful location at Simi Valley, California. The winner will get a contract with WWE.

The fans may be disappointed about the news but as days are passing by, Sting joining WWE is looking more like a rumor. Now it seems the 02.21.11 Promo was meant to glorify the return of The Undertaker. In fact, there are a couple of things that go against the ‘Sting coming to WWE’ story. In Sting’s official website, the calendar shows he is booked for TNA’s PPVs till July 15th (TNA- Victory Road).  The possibilities, however, of Taker’s return as “The Deadman” is thin as he was “Buried Alive” by Kane. Logically, returning as “The Deadman” will intensify his feud with Kane in which WWE creative team, apparently, is not interested anymore.  Interestingly, Wrestler Speaks found a video that was, as per some rumors, uploaded at WWE.com initially and was later replaced. You can see that rumored video here. However, if you follow carefully, the first half of the video  looks different from the second half; clearly confirming it to be a hoax.  But whoever is behind this promo, things are surely getting more mysterious.

Recently, UGO.com published a list of 25 most over-rated wrestlers of all time. But the news is, Triple H is crowned with the No. 1 position in the list. Triple H is a 13 time World Champions but was also named Most Overrated in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards on three consecutive occasions (2002, 2003 and 2004) and again in 2009. UGO.com wrote, “If Triple H was as great as people say he is, the past 13 years of constant pushes shouldn’t have just turned him into another Rock or “Stone Cold,” it should have gotten him elected King of the Universe.” The rest of the list is as follows:

The Rock is officially declared as the Host of WrestleMania 27 on Raw yesterday. During his promo on Raw, The Great One called out John Cena and expressed his wish to meet him face-to-face at the WrestleMania PPV. He also mocked John Cena’s look and promos.  John Cena responded to The Rock’s comments on Raw via Twitter. He wrote, “CeNation. Rock was in rare form tonight. It was great to see him enjoying himself out there. Even if it was at my expense. I’ve been Called alot worse. Just glad to see him back in action.” Can you smell what is cooking over here?

Finally folks!!! It’s gonna happen!!!! “The People’s Champ”, the “Brahma Bull”, The Rock will back in the ring again. The Hollywood actor and former WWE Champion has decided to return to the ring one more time against the superstar of the new generation John Cena. This dream match will take place in WrestleMania 28.

The Rock was the host for WrestleMania 27 this year. Long back, John Cena expressed his feelings in a British tabloid about The Rock’s decision of leaving WWE for his acting career. WWE creative team used this event to create a verbal feud between John Cena and The Rock after the “Brahma Bull” returned to a WWE ring after 7 years.  The way the feud kept on going, the WWE Universe assumed something’s coming. The guesses got a firm base when The Miz managed to pin John Cena in WrestleMania 27 after The Rock hit Cena with the “Rock bottom”.  The fans were almost sure that this incident carries a greater significance.

But even the most hardcore of fans never though his/her dream would come true so soon. The very next night after WrestleMania 27, there was a face to face verbal battle between Cena and The Rock where Cena challenged “The Great One” for a match. The fans went crazy when Rocky accepted the challenge for WrestleMania 28. The Rock said WrestleMania 28 will be “People’s Mania” and he will collide with Cena there.  This is the very first time when WWE creative team decided to announce a WrestleMania event one year advance. It won’t be easy to maintain the hype for one long year. So it will be interesting to see how things shape up a year later.

This year, WWE’s grandest Pay per View, WrestleMania 27 was hosted at The Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. The show opened with Justin Roberts welcoming the crowd to the show and introducing Keri Hilson who sang “America the Beautiful”.

World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (Champ) vs. Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio didn’t get much of fan reaction as he entered the ring. Brodus Clay was at ringside to accompany the Mexican wrestler. Edge was interrupted by Brodus Clay but managed to grab a victory by hitting a spear on Del Rio.  Winner: Edge

Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

This match saw Rey Mysterio in an extravagant outfit that resembled the costume of Captain America. But his performance in the match was not as heroic as the comic book hero. Mysterio was hit by “Cross Rhodes” and was pinned by Cody resulting in his defeat on the biggest stage of the year.  Winner: Cody Rhodes

Big Show, Kane, Kofi Kingston & Santino Marella vs. The Corre

The unlikely team of Big Show, Kane, Kofi and Santino pulled out the shortest match of this year’s WrestleMania. Big Show hit Heath Slater with a KO punch and easily pinned him.  Winners: Big Show, Kane, Kofi Kingston & Santino Marella

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

This was the “dark horse” bout of the night. There was no title involved and still the match drew some serious attention of the WWE fans present in the arena. Randy started as the crown favorite but Punk fought brilliantly with some good old wrestling maneuvers. He, however, lost the match after being hit by the RKO.  Winner: Randy Orton

Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler

This was significant for two reasons. Firstly,  it was the first WrestleMania match for Jerry “the King” Lawler. Secondly, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was the guest referee in this match. The result of this match was almost certain as Austin was in support of “the good guy” Lawler. Lawler won the match by putting the ankle lock on Cole who gave up the match by tapping out.  But later the anonymous GM of Raw handed the match over to Cole. Winner: Michael Cole

The Undertaker vs. Triple H

This was the biggest attraction of the night. Both men got huge response from the fans as they entered the ring. Taker was at his very best and so was Triple H. The Phenom was repeatedly hit by Triple H only to kick out during the pinfall. Finally, he applied Hell’s Gate on Triple H who succumbed to Taker’s hold and was forced to tap out.  Winner: The Undertaker

Trish Stratus, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi & John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler & LayCool

This was a kind of “WWE-Glamour world collaboration” match.  Snooki was the key attraction of the matchup. She successfully charmed the audience with her wrestling moves and her team managed to grab the victory by pinning Michelle McCool. Winners: John Morrison, Trish Stratus & John Morrison

WWE Championship: The Miz (Champ) vs. John Cena

This match was on under scanner as many fans wanted to check the ability of The Miz on the biggest show of this business. Miz impressed the audience and put on a good show. Initially, Miz held the tile as both competitors were counted out. But later, The Rock entered and restarted the match. Cena was hit by a huge Rock Bottom and Miz cashed in the opportunity. He crawled over Cena managed a victory by pinfall.  Winner: The Miz

The Rock is trying everything to properly play the role of WrestleMania 27 host. First he got involved with John Cena with a long verbal battle. Yesterday, he wrote on Twitter that he is giving away WrestleMania 27 tickets. He said, “ROCK HIDE & TWEET – 2 Mania tix I’ll hide here in ATLANTA – I’ll tweet clues tomorrow am. You find the tix ..You’re going to WRESTLEMANIA!”

Former TNA Women’s Champion and current WWE Superstar Awesome Kong was recently spotted at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The speculations heated up when a fan today posted a cell phone photo online of Kong sleeping on a flight en route to Atlanta. Kong is yet to debut in WWE programs.

The Good-Old JR, Jim Ross posted the following on Twitter:

“Mtg w/ my ATL lawyers. Working on a big deal. What irony 2 talk about this deal here & now. Gonna be a shocker! Get sauce @ axxess.”

But fans think Jerry himself will be in some shock when he will realize that fans have already speculated the “shock” to be his return as announcer and may not be as shocked as Jerry expects them to be. However, Lawler’s return as an announcer will be simply great news for the WWE Universe.
